Glenn Boyce is a tunnel and geotechnical engineer with 42 years of experience, which covers virtually every aspect of trenchless, tunnel, shaft, and geotechnical engineering, including exploration and assessment. Since joining Delve Underground in 2005, he has served as an engineer, lead engineer, project manager, or technical reviewer. Glenn has been involved in preliminary and final design, alignment and layout, geometrics, cost estimating and analysis, and environmental studies, inspections, and assessments for a variety of trenchless, tunneling, and shaft projects. His project expertise covers the water, wastewater, transit, and energy markets. In 2009, Glenn was named “Trenchless Person of the Year,” and in 2017 he received the prestigious ASCE Stephen Bechtel Pipeline Award. Active in many professional organizations, he is also an award-winning engineer, teacher, and author.
Glenn holds a PhD in Geological Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, an MS in Geotechnical Engineering, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Oregon, Wisconsin, British Columbia, Alberta, and Hong Kong. In 2023, Glenn become Board Certified as a Pipeline Engineer – Water through ASCE/UESI.
Glenn is the co-developer of NASTT’s New Installations Short Course. He has been an instructor of the course over 35 times since 2007. He is also the principal author or Blue Ribbon reviewer for ASCE Manuals of Practice for Pilot Tube and Other Guided Boring Methods, Pipe Ramming, Microtunneling, Direct Steerable Pipe Thrusting, and Pipeline Crossings. He was Chairman of NASTT in 2001-2002.
