Jon holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Missouri S&T and is a licensed Professional Engineer in 15 US states. Jon’s project work includes geotechnical evaluations, trenchless engineering, and construction consulting for many long (some over 1 mile in length) and otherwise industry-significant Direct Pipe and Horizontal Directional Drilling crossings throughout the US and internationally. Jon has authored or co-authored over 20 peer reviewed papers and publications about trenchless and geotechnical engineering and construction, and he currently chairs the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Trenchless Installation of Pipelines (TIPs) Committee, the coordinating group for all trenchless engineering Manuals of Practice (MOPs), Standards, and other activities within ASCE. Jon also chaired the MOP committee for the recently published Direct Steerable Pipe Thrusting MOP #155.
In addition to his project work focus, Jon currently leads more than 30 engineers, geologists, and other staff located in offices throughout the US in GeoEngineers’ Pipelines Discipline.
Jon teaches NASTT’s Direct Steerable Pipe Thrusting (DSPT) Good Practices Course.
