2016 – Martin Cherrington

Martin Cherrington conceived the use of Horizontal Directional Drilling as a practical alternative to conventional trenching methods beginning in the 1960’s.

HDD, as it would become known, would ultimately revolutionize the way the construction industry would come to install underground piping on a world wide basis.  Martin’s stature in the trenchless industry is iconic and as such, he is known as the “Father of HDD”.
