Join us for an informative presentation on Guided Auger Boring in all ground conditions, led by Dr. Heinz Plum, a distinguished consultant in civil engineering since 1997 and Managing Director of Bohrtec Gesellschaft für Bohrtechnologie mbH since 2013.

Guided Auger Boring is a trenchless technology renowned for its precision, capable of installing pipes with an accuracy of ±25 mm. This method is categorized into two distinct techniques tailored to varying ground conditions:

Pilot Pipe Method: Ideal for displaceable soils with SPT values ≤ 35, no cobbles larger than 80 mm, and drive lengths up to 100 m. A groundbreaking solution, the Bohrtec DoPi-Hole-Opener, now extends its application to regions with high groundwater tables and challenging running soils, enabling the installation of plastic sewer lines (OD 150 to OD 400) with all the efficiency and simplicity of traditional auger boring systems.

Front Steer Method: Designed for harder ground and rock, this system excels in non-displaceable soils, soft rock (up to 30 MPa), and even hard rock (up to 250 MPa) when equipped with a DTH hammer. With sizes ranging from 324 mm OD to 1,014 mm OD, the Front Steer system offers immediate ground excavation, efficient soil removal, and precise directional control.

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies and solutions in trenchless pipe installation.

Northwest Chapter Technical Luncheon – Calgary, AB

Join us for an educational luncheon on Glass Reinforced Polymer GRP liner construction, design, hydraulic capacity, QA/QC, jointing systems, grouting, and other topics relating to the installation of GRP liners.

Andy Sherwin became involved in the sewer and infrastructure business in 1992 and has extensive field, sales and Management experience in pipe maintenance, rehabilitation and industrial cleaning. In 1992, while employed by Thames Water Services Group in London, England, Andy gained invaluable knowledge of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) Lining, Spray Applied Lining and GRP Slip-Lining.

After relocating to North America, in the late 90’s he worked with some of the largest Trenchless Specialists in Canada and has been involved in several challenging Large Diameter, Non-circular lining projects.

During his time with Channeline International Fiberglass Manufacturing L.L.C., Andy constructed or acted as Technical support for over 100,000ft of rehabilitation using GRP Lining and has been involved in many thousands of feet of CIPP Rehabilitation.

Join us for an educational luncheon to learn more about GRP Lining products from a leading expert.
