The ASTT Technical Forums are back in 2018!

After a successful year of forums in 2017, the Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology (ASTT) are pleased to be again offering the following Technical Forums to start 2018:

VIC – Thursday 8 March – 3 to 6.30 pm – Woodward Conference Centre, Carlton

NSW – Thursday 22 March – 3 to 6.30 pm – Sydney Water, Parramatta

The forums will be attended by key industry decision makers, contractors and manufacturers, with plenty of opportunities to network over canapés and drinks after the presentations.

Event registration for ASTT members is just AU$45. Registration for non-members is AU$65.

Registration and Award Nominations Open for No-Dig Down Under 2017

Nominations are open for the ASTT Awards, winners will be announced at the Official Gala Dinner sponsored by Ditch Witch Australia on Thursday 14 September 2017.

The ASTT Awards recognise excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Australia and New Zealand’s Trenchless Technology industry. Nominating your project or colleague will give you and your company international recognition by highlighting your achievement to key-stakeholders in the trenchless industry.

There are five categories available to ASTT members to nominate for. Submit a nomination here before they close on Thursday 1 June 2017.

Project of the year – Rehabilitation 
Recognising innovation, advancements in technology, environmental benefits and occupational health and safety benefits in rehabilitation projects utilising Trenchless Technology.

Project of the year – New Installation 
Recognising innovation, advancements in technology, environmental benefits and occupational health and safety benefits in new installation projects utilising Trenchless Technology.

New Technology – Machine, tool, material, system or technique
New Technology should demonstrate a practical development of trenchless systems or equipment that results in benefits such as improved economy, accuracy, speed of drive or replacement, ability to overcome difficult installations, or similar.

Person of the Year
The award recognises a contribution over and above the call of duty to grow, develop and promote the use of Trenchless Technology across Australasia and indeed around the world.

Young Person of the Year
Someone who is engaged with the industry and the promotion of Trenchless Technology, has significantly contributed to the industry over the past year, and is aged 40 or under on 1 September 2017.

ISTT Seeks Executive Director

The International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT) seeks an Executive Director toistt-logo-2
manage the business of ISTT.  ISTT plans to select an Executive Director by the beginning of
2017. Applications will be accepted immediately. Please see ISTT Executive Director Position

ISTT Announces 2017 International No-Dig Show

istt-logo-2Next year is set to be the year of ‘Trenchless in the Americas’ with the ISTT’s International No-Dig Show being held in conjunction with NASTT’s No-Dig Show, and the Trenchless World Congress scheduled to take place in Medellin, Colombia, in September 2017.

Speaking on the events ISTT Executive Director John Hemphill said “In April, NASTT kicks off the year of Trenchless in the Americas hosting the 35th International No-Dig in conjunction with its annual No-Dig Show. The event will focus primarily on trenchless activities and developments in North America.

“The theme will carry over to Colombia where in September CISTT will host the Trenchless World Congress in Medellin. The Congress will focus on market opportunities for Trenchless Technology in Central and South America.

“It’s exciting to have two key societies engaged in promoting and advancing the benefits and opportunities of trenchless technologies in all of the Americas.”

Next April, NASTT will host the 35th International No-Dig in conjunction with it’s annual No-Dig Show, which will focus on trenchless activities and developments in North America.

The NASTT No-Dig Show and ISTT No-Dig Show will run concurrently on 9-13 September in Washington, DC.

In September, CISTT will host the Trenchless World Congress in Medellin, which will explore market opportunities for Trenchless Technology in Central and South America.

The 2017 ISTT Board of Directors meeting will also be held in Medellin, in association with the CISTT/ISTT Trenchless World Congress. ISTT will also give its annual Awards at the Congress’s Gala Dinner.
